Imagine a faraway, untouched place, where at night the sky is tinged with wonderful colours and the legend of the spirits communicating from the over world echo in the words of the local people: that place does exist: it is called Lapland!
Set off with LappOne-The five senses of Lapland to experience your authentic Christmas in Lapland, living unique and unforgettable emotions in the pristine valley of the Tornio River. The tour will take place in HaparandaTornio, a town located on the border between Swedish and Finnish Lapland, in a land untouched by mass tourism, rich in culture, history, traditions and wonderful landscapes.
This tour is designed for those who want to experience the atmosphere of authentic Christmas in Lapland in an off-the-beaten-track, history-rich area surrounded by rustic comfort and genuine hospitality.
Authentic Christmas in Lapland means staying away from mass tourism, being always in touch with nature and living the food, traditions, colours and voices of the last wilderness of Europe.
The location has little light pollution, so the northern lights are usually visible from the yard, without the need of tiring nighttime transfers.
The guesthouse is family run and gives an insight into a traditional Lapland family, which has lived in the area for over 5 generations. The restaurant is one of the best in the area and uses meat from the owner’s cattle.
The programme combines typical Arctic activities such as husky and reindeer with more peculiar ones such as the visit to a real artisan workshop and a shamanic ritual. We have over ten years experience so we make sure your tour goes smoothly.
Optionally, the programme can be lengthened with one or two additional nights stay in an igloo or perhaps a town center hotel. Tornio, Haparanda and Kemi are small, charming towns, safe and nearly traffic-free.
Join us in a small group for your authentic Christmas in Lapland!
