Arctic landscapes tour with LappOne – The five sense of Lapland
Have a wonderful experience exploring the Arctic landscapes with our photographic and historical tour!
The tour is performed in the fascinating Torne River Valley, where you will follow the steps of ancient explorers such as Pierre Louis Moreau de Maupertuis and Giuseppe Acerbi. We stop by the old fishermen village of Kukkola to see the most beautiful rapids of the Nordic Countries and the historical museum village.
Later, we take a break at Hietaniemi or Karunki where we study the role of the Church in history. We then climb up to the Aavasaksanvaara hill and enjoy endless views over Lapland and a bit of history. We proceed to Juoksengi where we cross the Arctic Circle and learn why the position of this mystical place changes all the time.
We end up the day in a small souvenir factory situated right by the border of Finland and Sweden – here we can have a snack and choose between countless, high-quality objects to take back with you as souvenirs.
