Day 01 :
WELCOME TO LAPLAND!

Upon arrival at Kemi-Tornio Airport, you will transfer by private vehicle to Kukkola village, located along the Tornio River. The drive takes about 45 minutes.

During your stay, you will be accommodated at Kukkolankoski River Cottages, a peaceful riverside property managed by Mr. Risto. The complex includes rustic wooden chalets, a dining area in a renovated farmhouse, and beautiful views over the river landscape.

Your apartment features Nordic-style furnishings, shared living areas, and comfortable bedrooms. Private bathroom options are available upon request for an additional fee. Finally, enjoy your first evening in Lapland surrounded by silence and nature.

Day 02 :
ALONG THE TORNIO RIVER

After breakfast, the day begins with a relaxing houseboat journey north along the Tornio River. The scenery gradually opens into wide water landscapes that almost resemble an endless lake.

During the cruise, you will enjoy a light snack on board. Weather permitting, you may swim or simply admire the peaceful surroundings.

Later, return to Kukkola for dinner featuring locally grilled whitefish. In the evening, if skies are clear, you may also have the chance to observe the Northern Lights.

Day 03 :
BALTIC SEA CRUISE

Following breakfast, a short transfer brings you to the departure point for a Baltic Sea cruise. The route passes through the Haparanda Archipelago National Park, known for its unique islands and coastal scenery.

During the excursion, a light lunch will be served. Afterwards, you can walk along the nature trails of Sandskär Island. Occasionally, Baltic seals may be spotted along the way.

In the evening, return to the mainland for a traditional dinner before heading back to your accommodation.

Day 04 :
DAY ON THE WATER

After breakfast, the day starts with optional rafting on the Kukkola rapids. The Finnish side is calmer, while the Swedish side offers more challenge. Safety equipment will be provided.

Later, the pace slows down with a guided forest walk. You will learn about Arctic berries, trees, and the local ecosystem.

Finally, the evening includes dinner, sauna time, and outdoor relaxation. If conditions allow, Northern Lights viewing may be possible.

Day 05 :
LANDSCAPES AND SHAMAN RITUALS

Today focuses on culture and panoramic landscapes. First, travel to Juoksenki village near the Arctic Circle for photos and scenic views.

Afterward, visit Aavasaksa Hill, where short hiking trails offer stunning perspectives of the Tornio Valley.

In the afternoon, you may join a traditional handicraft workshop and create a wooden kuksa cup (optional activity). Later, gather around the fire for an introduction to local spiritual traditions before dinner at a renowned regional restaurant.

Day 06 :
CULTURE AND FISHERMEN

This morning begins with a visit to Kukkolaforsen fishing village. Here, a guide will explain traditional lifestyles and fishing culture in the Tornio Valley.

Next, you will participate in a traditional bread-baking experience and enjoy freshly brewed coffee by the fire.

During the afternoon, you will have free time for photography or relaxation. Dinner will feature regional ingredients before returning to your accommodation.

Day 07 :
GOODBYE LAPLAND!

After breakfast, transfer back to Kemi-Tornio Airport.

Although the journey ends today, the memories of Arctic landscapes, culture, and unique experiences will stay with you for years.
